Job Description

Central Equipment Associate reporting to the Manager Biomedical Engineering and Central Equipment are responsible for the movement of equipment throughout the Mackenzie Health Facilities. This will include collecting equipment requiring preventative or corrective maintenance and relocating equipment and other items to support clinical care.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain all shared equipment within the central equipment portfolio.
  • Ensures the equipment storage area is well maintained and organized.
  • Record and perform all standard duties during designated times (i.e. Irretrievable specimen pick-up/delivery; oxygen tanks distributions slings soiled hardware etc.).
  • Receive record and perform ad. hoc. work order requests (i.e. RTLS tagging troubleshooting IV pump replenishment bed deliveries etc.).
  • Deliver equipment devices hardware supplies and tanks to designated areas within organization.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment and device inventory/PAR levels in designated areas within organization and in the Central Equipment Department.
  • Monitor equipment device hardware and supplies condition (i.e. wear & tear) and notify coordinator/manager to order new/replacement items accordingly.
  • Monitor equipment device hardware supplies and oxygen tank inventory and notify coordinator/manager on a quarterly basis if inventory is running low based on required PARs to support operations.
  • When requested pick-up broken equipment and devices and place for repair in designated location within the organization.

What must you have

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (or equivalent).

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook) strong understanding of databases.
  • Strong interpersonal written and oral communication skill required to interact with hospital staff contractors and stakeholders.
  • Proven analytical decision-making and problem- solving skills.
  • Proven ability to organize work and prioritize schedules using sound judgment.
  • Conscientious attitude toward safe practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative manner with a wide variety of clinical and non-clinical personnel.
  • Proven attendance record.
  • Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others and demonstrates behaviours consistent with Mackenzie Healths Commitment to Caring.

Preferably your profile also includes:

  • Previous experience in a health care setting preferred.
