About the Opportunity
The 1000 NSW Public Sector Apprentices and Trainees Program is offering an exciting 24-month traineeship in Certificate IV in Outdoor Leadership with the Office of Sport. Youll gain hands-on experience across some of NSWs most iconic Sport and Recreation Centres.
This unique opportunity blends outdoor program delivery with behind-the-scenes coordination giving you a well-rounded foundation in leadership logistics and people support.

- Lake Burrendong Sport and Recreation Centre Mumbil New South Wales
- Milson Island Sport and Recreation Centre Brooklyn NSW
- Point Wolstoncroft Sport and Recreation Centre Lake Macquarie NSW
- Sydney Academy of Sport Narrabeen NSW
- Borambola Sport and Recreation Centre Borambola NSW
Regular travel within NSW is required for training and assessment. If you love a good road trip and exploring new places this role is perfect for you!
What Youll Do Role Description -Trainee Sport Program
- Assist with outdoor recreation activities including archery canoeing biking bushwalking abseiling and rock climbing
- Help with meal service dishwashing and general dining hall supervision
- Support client programs by managing logistics like transport free time and first aid
- Handle client enquiries and provide on-site assistance during activities
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to ensure smooth program delivery
