Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) a member of the Texas A&M University System welcomes applicants for anInstructional Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice to beginFall 2026.

TAMIU is a Hispanic Serving Institution with over 8000 students located in Laredo Texas a vibrant and bicultural city with a population of about 250000. The university advances knowledge through research and discovery teaching and learning community engagement and public service and with an intentional focus on student success and research excellence. For more information please visit is anon-tenure track 9-month faculty position. Primary duties will includeteaching undergraduate and masters courses (15 credit hours per semester) in the field of Criminal Justice. The program seeks a candidate who can teach a variety of core courses at the undergraduate level with opportunities to teach elective and masters courses in the candidates area of expertise. Candidates must be able to deliver content in various formats including face-to-face online and hybrid. Flexibility in scheduling is required with availability for morning afternoon evening and/or weekend classes. Duties also includeserving on departmental college and university committees. This position requires face-to-face interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.

The successful candidate must hold aPhD in Criminal Justice or a related field. Candidates who are ABD will also be considered but must have earned a doctorate before August 16 2026. We desire candidates who are committed to undergraduate and graduate education and are ready to teach a variety of Criminal Justice courses at the undergraduate and masters levels. Experience teaching classes in multiple modalities (face-to-face online and hybrid) is preferred. We strongly encourage candidates with prior experience teaching at an institution of higher education.

Financial support for professional development opportunities such as attending academic conferences is also provided. Moving expenses are covered in whole or in part by the university.
