The University of Hawaii at Manoa School of Nursing and Dental Hygiene (UH Manoa SONDH) invites qualified applicants for one non-tenure track 9-month faculty position. The position is expected to begin approximately December 2025 or as mutually acceptable. Renewal of appointment is dependent on performance program needs and/or availability of funds. - Teach and/or coordinate assigned nursing courses primarily in the Graduate Entry Program in Nursing (GEPN) an accelerated alternative entry program which is designed for adult learners who transition to the Master of Science and Doctor of Nursing Practice degree programs. Specific priorities of need include: medical-surgical nursing; other specialty areas of nursing.
- Participate in curriculum development activities as appropriate or assigned.
- Participate in didactic lab practicum and clinical settings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university;
- Holds a current (or be eligible for) unrestricted RN license to practice in Hawaii;
- One year of full-time nursing work experience in the area of nursing specialty;
- Engaged in professional practice with a similar patient population and level of patient acuity where they will be assigned for the purpose of supervising nursing students;
- Demonstrated ability to teach effectively provide clinical supervision provide student feedback and direct group discussion;
- Demonstrated professionalism in meeting and conferring with others;
- Demonstrated competency in interprofessional team work and team science..
Desirable Qualifications:
- Prior teaching experience.
- Experience teaching in an accelerated program for advanced learners.
- Experience in curriculum development and evaluation.
- National certification or eligible for certification in advanced practice.
