Job Summary
The Garage Attendant plays a critical role in maintaining the overall cleanliness safety and functionality of the Statehouse Underground Parking Garage during third shift operations. This position is primarily focused on overnight maintenance and facility upkeep with limited responsibilities involving customer service and event-related duties.
Key Responsibilities (90%):
Maintain the cleanliness of the garage including:
oTrash and debris removal
oPower washing surfaces
oSweeping using powered street sweeper equipment
oCleaning stairwells and penthouses
Perform light operational maintenance and upkeep of parking facility equipment
Ensure all areas of the garage are safe clean and functional
Occasionally assist with traffic direction following late-night events
Other operational duties as assigned
Secondary Responsibilities (10%):
Provide courteous and professional customer service to garage visitors
Direct drivers to appropriate parking or destinations
Assist with parking and traffic management during special events
Support cash handling if pay-on-foot machines are offline or during event parking
Perform minor custodial tasks during second shift support periods
Assist with equipment monitoring and troubleshooting when needed
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks during overnight hours
Strong attention to detail and reliability
Capable of performing physically demanding custodial and maintenance tasks
Good communication skills and a customer-service mindset
Experience operating power equipment (e.g. power washer street sweeper) is a plus
Previous experience in facility maintenance or parking operations preferred
The Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board (CSRAB) is responsible for maintaining the historic character of Capitol Square while providing for the health safety and convenience of those who work in and visit the complex. CSRAB is charged with interpreting the role of Ohios Statehouse in national and Ohio history to celebrate its art and architecture and to highlight its ongoing impact on the daily lives of Ohioans and thereby inspire all Ohioans to participate in state government.
Statehouse Mission
The mission of the Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board is to facilitate the operation of state government preserve the historical integrity of the Capitol Square Complex and educate visitors about the history of Ohio and civics.
Primarily overnight hours in a parking garage environment
Exposure to outdoor conditions and physical work
May require occasional flexibility for special events or second-shift needs
