General Summary: Performs the material handling requirements of the plant generally via operation of a fork truck.

Essential Functions:

1) Moves materials into and out of Finish cells and/or Die Casting.

2) Loads delivery trucks with parts for shipment to customers.

3) Checks accuracy of ship tags and availability of parts for shipment.

4) Organizes and maintains clean staging areas in areas being used.

5) Works with Finish Department to keep them informed of needed shipments.

6) Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

7) Performs daily PM checklist on equipment.

8) Completes drop casting reports as needed.

Marginal Functions:

1) Assists in taking inventory counts.

2) Communicates with other employees about priorities.

Minimum Qualifications:

1) Maintain license as a certified fork truck operator. Maintain safe driving record.

2) Possess ability to operate variety of office equipment.

3) Good interpersonal skills.

4) Able to lift and move up to 60 pounds on an occasional basis.

5) Able to twist and sit for long periods of time.

6) Able to climb in and out of fork trucks frequently.

Working Conditions:

  • Plant conditions including exposure to dirt heat fumes and noise.
  • Continuous fork truck driving. Climbing into and out of fork truck.
  • Interfacing and communicating with employees from various departments and levels of the organization.
