The North Carolina Office of the State Auditor (OSA) is seeking an Audit Manager to help lead our Information Systems Audit Division. This division performs audits of information systems and information process facilities investigates security breaches across North Carolinas network and conducts research on new Information Systems technology.


OSA is the states Fiscal Watchdog. We hold state government and entities that receive public money accountable working on behalf of North Carolinians to eliminate waste fraud and abuse.

As part of our team you will get to:

  • Perform supervisory functions for a single audit team
  • Review audit work of assigned staff
  • Assist with the interviewing and selecting of new staff members
  • Interpret and provide input into standard operating policies and procedures
  • Work alongside data processing professionals and managers internal auditors systems accountants financial and operational auditors department controllers and department heads

Knowledge Skills and Abilities / Competencies

  • A CISA CISSP or CISM certification is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of information systems controls and generally accepted accounting principles
  • Ability to provide guidance and feedback to help an employee or groups of employees to strengthen their knowledge skills and abilities

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

A bachelors degree with 24 semester hours in accounting and 12 semester hours in information technology or computer & information security from an appropriately accredited institution and 5 years of experience in auditing/accounting or information technology/computer security one of which must have been functioning as an audit lead or supervisor

OR

A bachelors degree with 24 semester hours in information technology or computer & information security and 12 semester hours in accounting/business from an appropriately accredited institution and 5 years of experience in auditing/accounting or information technology/computer security one of which must have been functioning as an audit lead or supervisor

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience
