of Job Duties:The Academic Success Librarian collaborates with university faculty students and staff to support campus-wide initiatives in research and teaching and learning. The successful candidate will work both independently and collaboratively with library colleagues and campus partners to contribute to a shared vision of the Ottenheimer Librarys role in academic success. This position holds a 12-month faculty appointment with rank leading to tenure. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.


Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience

  • A masters degree in library and information science from an ALA-accredited program.

Preferred Education and/or Experience

  • Degree in a discipline within Humanities Arts Social Sciences or Education;

  • Experience in the provision of research assistance and/or instruction in an academic library.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as liaison to academic departments within the universitys College of Humanities Arts Social Sciences and Education (CHASSE) and actively develops relationships with faculty students and staff in those departments.;

  • Provide student research support in-person and online as part of a collaborative service model;

  • Provide instructional services including face-to-face hybrid and online learning sessions and other innovative approaches to develop information literacy research critical thinking and technology skills;

  • Collaborate with faculty and other campus partners to integrate affordable course content (ACC) and open educational resources (OER) into courses and create learner experiences that integrate active and inclusive learning strategies into learner experiences.

  • Promote open scholarship though faculty and student engagement with the librarys open access (OA) and institutional repository (IR) initiatives;

  • Engage in scholarly professional and service activities in accordance with university and library promotion and tenure guidelines.

  • Work occasional evening and weekend hours to support instructional sessions or library events;

  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of trends in information literacy and open technology;

  • Superior written and oral communication skills.
