Are you a seasoned internal audit professional looking for a role that offers real variety challenge and purpose

At the University of Otago were offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Internal Auditor to join our small high-performing team. Reporting to the Head of Risk Assurance and Compliance youll deliver independent high-quality internal audit and advisory services that provide assurance to senior leadership and governance committees on the effectiveness of the Universitys risk management internal control and governance systems.

This is a role where no two days are the same youll work across a wide range of topics - from academic departments to research centres and operational units - identifying opportunities to enhance performance ensure compliance and support continuous improvement.

Were looking for someone who is self-driven engaging and personable - someone who brings energy and positivity to their work and values being a good human as much as being a good auditor.

To thrive in this role youll bring:
A relevant tertiary qualification in auditing business accounting or a related discipline.
Significant experience conducting internal audits and providing assurance risk management and/or compliance services in a large and complex organisation.
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trust and influence across diverse groups.
Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
A collaborative mindset and a genuine interest in supporting your colleagues and contributing to a positive team culture.

This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) permanent position located in Ōtepoti Dunedin. Were open to flexible arrangements (e.g. 0.8 FTE hybrid location) for the right candidate.

The salary appointment range for this role is $101739 to $110396 per annum. Top of the range is $119053. Along with a competitive salary we offer a 6.75% superannuation scheme and encourage a positive work/life balance.
