Position: CNC Programmer
Reports To: Supervisor/Department Manager
Pay Range: Level 14 Level 35
Essential Functions:

- Design and develop CNC programs for 3 and 5 axis machining centers mill-turn centers and Swiss lathes utilizing CAM software;
- Design develop or modify CNC tooling processes and procedures to support production machining operations;
- Design develop and fabricate machining fixtures and workholding as required;
- Responsible for selecting cutting tools calculating speeds and feeds and optimizing machining processes;
- Work with vendors attend trade shows and stay up-to-date with CNC technology and incorporate advancements into existing processes;
- Perform quality control checks and troubleshoot issues during the machining processes;
- Participates in maintaining established inventory of materials and tooling requirements;
- Optimizes machining processes to minimize cycle times and scrap;
- Assist in repairs and preventive maintenance activities of CNC machinery;
- Performs and completes setup sheets and documents process control for each setup;
- Participates and drives cost saving and continuous improvement initiatives;
- Participates in tool offset adjustments to complete first-piece inspections;
- Operates various assembly production equipment and hand tools;
- Performs quality inspections and follows ISO procedures;
- Performs floor work/material handling duties;
- Prepares and packs parts for material handling and/or shipping;
- See reads and follows work instructions safety procedures and completes various forms and reports;
- Works with co-workers in a safe professional and cooperative manner;
- Maintains good attendance flexibility in job assignments adaptable to changing business needs and continually learns and applies new skills;
- Meets minimum physical/mental demands with or without reasonable accommodation;
- Complies with all company policies and procedures;
- Trains others on knowledge and skills mastered;
- Other duties as assigned.

Operate Equipment: Vertical machining center Mill-turn centers Swiss Lathes band saw sanders grinders parts washing systems labeler basic hand held measuring tools and other equipment as required.
Administrative: See/read/follow work instructions blue print reading labels ISO procedures requisition tools and materials t support manufacturing processes Inventory procedures BOM and general forms as determined; Knowledge of MRP.
Quality: Paperwork accuracy; testing; recognize defects and addressing;
perform gauging; use measuring devices; follow work instructions;
clear/correctly written paperwork; prevent defects; follow procedures
on defects and others as needed; help to identify root cause.
Productivity: Meet established performance standards; perform secondary
operations within cycle time; participate in problem solving; able to
handle multiple tasks/responsibilities.
Health/Safety: Follow safety rules guidelines and training given; cleanliness of
workstation/housekeeping; maintain good personal hygiene; wear all
required and appropriate PPE; recognize hazards and report to
designated individual; participate in safety initiatives; report all
accidents/injuries/near misses immediately; practice safe work
habits.
Teamwork/Flexibility: Available for OT; interact with co-workers professionally; contribute
to a positive work environment; adapt to job/business demands;
learn and apply new skills; support co-workers and company

Pre-Requisites/Minimum Qualifications:
Certificate from college or technical school preferred. Minimum of 2 years experience of setup/ operation of machine tools. Ability to see read and follow instructions/procedures/policies and interpret drawings; fluent with M&G code programming; experience with Solid Works FeatureCam and/or Part Maker software or similar programming; ability to operate safely all machinist tools equipment and hand tools; ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with strong teamwork and cooperation.
Requisites for Achieving and Maintaining Pay Levels 31 - 35:
- Has achieved progressive merit increases up to Level 30.
- Minimum of 2 years as CNC Programmer.
- Independently performs back up/transfer to other positions or departments as needed.
- Meets goals; achieves a rating of above in majority of standards with no belows; not in
constructive action.
