Job Description

Principal Associate Project Management - Line Management & Balance Transfers (Hybrid)

In this role you will be responsible for delivering and maintaining a well-managed ecosystem for the Credit Line and Balance Transfer platforms. You will work with product managers engineers and data analysts to ensure the Credit Line Increase (CLIP) Credit Line Decrease (CLD) and Balance Transfer (BT) processes are operating as intended. You will manage Line Management and Balance Transfer controls and leverage data to ensure those controls are executing correctly. You will own and operate Line and Balance Transfer processes that are focused on reducing risk.

On any given day you will be:

  • Leveraging your expertise to solve complex problems and to consult on new platform initiatives

  • Managing processes and controls that keep Line Management and Balance Transfers compliant and well-managed

  • Identifying new failure modes and developing controls to prevent those failures from occurring

  • Building relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders to create new strategies drive transparency and deliver business commitments

  • Influencing product design to ensure the Line and Balance Transfer platforms are resilient and well-managed

  • Distilling big picture intent into pragmatic requirements and implementation plans

The Successful Candidate:

  • Has a strong bias towards action trying new things and sometimes failing

  • Helps to solve complex problems with sustainable solutions

  • Has the ability to deliver high quality results either autonomously or collaboratively - depending on the scenario

  • Is able to efficiently learn complex processes and apply that knowledge in an effective manner

  • Has strong analytical skills attention to detail and the ability to adapt to a dynamic agile environment

  • Communicates effectively and efficiently across multiple levels of an organization

  • Has strong project and process management skills including the ability to identify end-to-end impacts create project plans and communicate updates

  • Understands data and technology and is comfortable with working in a technology focused environment

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or military experience

  • At least 1 year of experience working with analytical data management or software engineering teams

  • At least 1 year of experience in project or process management

  • At least 1 year of experience with controls or audit

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 years of experience leveraging SQL or Python

  • Bachelors/Masters Degree in Business Economics Mathematics Engineering

  • Process or Project Management certification (Scaled Agile Lean PMP)

  • 3 years of experience in Process management Product operations Product delivery or Project Management

  • 3 years of experience in Strategic planning

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

New York NY: $128000 - $146100 for Principal Project Manager


McLean VA: $117300 - $133900 for Principal Project Manager


Richmond VA: $106700 - $121700 for Principal Project Manager









Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidates offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
