Job Description
Responsible for overall coordination and scheduling of surgeons time patients and practice.
Shift: Monday- Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
Manages incoming referrals and schedules consultations. Communicate back to referring physicians.
Maintains surgeons surgery calendar and schedules patients for surgery and pre-operative testing.
Coordinates patients in clinic for pre-op teaching post-op appointments and additional appointments as required.
Acts as the liaison between the patient and the surgeon both pre-operatively and post-operatively.
Acts as liaison with the surgery departments and outside clinics. Initiate consults to other specialists.
Responsible for surgeons charge tickets working the missing ticket report and indexing reports into the chart.
Ability to create presentations for surgeon as needed.
Ability to create surgeons administrative documents and spreadsheets to include monthly Directorship Timesheets and monthly Call and Transplant reports.
Maintain knowledge of other office positions and cover medical office specialist and office phones as needed.
At HSKC will also:
Manage patient flow in surgeons clinic.
Monitor patients insurance coverage and is responsible for prior authorization as needed. Communicate authorizations to Financial Clearance Center.
Manage surgeons practice to include coordinating the daily calendar assisting with requested tasks monitoring and renewing licensure and professional memberships organizing and scheduling meetings and assisting with travel planning.
Maintain surgeons continuing medical education and curriculum vitae.
