Position Summary
The Computer Support Specialist is responsible for assisting IT staff in the Hussman School of Journalism and Media with supporting everyday computer and technology needs of faculty staff and students. Typical activities include classroom technology support; new computer set up; general PC Mac and printer troubleshooting; and assistance with basic computing tasks. Software and systems supported include Active Directory Adobe Creative Cloud browsers (Chrome Edge Firefox Safari) Jamf Microsoft Office Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager and Zoom. The Computer Support Specialist will also help with short- and long-term IT projects including training of and outreach to the UNC Hussman community.

Computer related certifications are desirable but not required.
