Job Summary

This position is responsible to provide mentoring and direction to the field engineering and commissioning team. The National Engineering Manager under minimal supervision will be responsible for producing high quality engineering designs per specifications standards budgets and schedules as well as leading a team to design install and service building automation control and security management systems. They will also work with the account executives and project managers to assist with technical issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Project Management and Sales Assistance:

  • Mentor and coach to aid in the development and success of the engineering team.
  • Work with the project managers to Lead prioritize schedule and delegate engineering assignments to ensure performance expectations are being met and the team is working within project budgetary constraints
  • Work with the Director of Data Centers and the engineering team to create and enforce standards for hardware software and graphic design.
  • Assist sales team with labor and hardware estimates to ensure costs are contained and adhere to system architectural standards.
  • Assist sales team with technical presentations and system demonstrations as needed.

Job Chargeable:

  • Understand how to read specifications drawings and internal cost estimates
  • Be able to design hardware submittals read and create software programming ranging from the simple to complex and assist others in startup of control equipment.
  • Manage incoming communications from customer subcontractors engineers and project managers efficiently so that inquiries are addressed in a timely manner while balancing work assignments.
  • Assist/Lead Startup and Commissioning activities for projects.
  • Assist the PM in reviewing contract documentation coordination drawings material procurement activity and other documents throughout the project life cycle
  • Lead resolution of project issues through RFIs field surveys and customer communications
  • Attend MEP project coordination meetings.
  • Other duties assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 8-10 years of experience in the BAS/Data Center industry
  • Expert knowledge of HVAC security or other building or electronic control systems sequence of operations and application designs
  • Advanced Knowledge in Modbus and BACnet communication protocols
  • Advanced Knowledge of Tridium N4
  • Knowledge of Schneider Electrics software (EcoStruxure Building Operation Power Manager Expert Data Center Expert Power SCADA Studio 360 etc.) applications a plus
  • Advanced efficiency with Microsoft Office 365 including Word Excel Power Point and Visio etc.
  • Excellent communicator self-motivated individual with professional communication skills
  • Regular and reliable attendance including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required
