The Technology Trainer performs advanced professional work researching designing developing and delivering both live and virtual technology training programs for Denton County employees. Responsibilities include consulting with Denton County departments to determine technology training needs developing training materials and instructing employees on established and emerging technology and applications as they apply to the County. The Technology Trainer is required to provide excellent customer service resolve problems in a timely manner communicate effectively and be a positive contributor to the Denton County Technology Services Team.
Examples of Duties
- Administers maintains and creates content in the county Learning Management System (LMS) including managing users configuring the system troubleshooting creating uploading and organizing course content providing user and instructor support and generating reports and analytics.
- Designs develops and delivers live and virtual technology training sessions and workshops including creating eLearning content such as videos tutorials user guides and promotional materials to support county training and technology initiatives.
- Develops implements and manages the Countys cybersecurity awareness program by designing and delivering engaging training sessions publishing monthly newsletters creating motivational campaigns and fostering a culture of security awareness among employees through continuous education and innovative communication strategies.
- Leverages expertise with eLearning content creation tools video conferencing software and hardware tools assessment and evaluation tools and collaboration and communication tools to design and deliver top-notch live and virtual training.
- Employs excellent interpersonal skills to interact with county staff providing instruction and guidance on the use of county software and applications. Additionally utilizes problem-solving skills to identify develop and implement training guides and resources in response to inquiries and requests for assistance from county staff.
- Manages and maintains technology training lab equipment software and materials needed for effective instruction.
- Creates monthly newsletters and periodic marketing materials that inform and motivate end-users about technology training programs and initiatives.
- Assists with maintaining and updating SharePoint portals and intranet pages.
- Collaborates with department leadership to identify training needs and devises a strategic plan to tailor programs accordingly.
- Follows county policies and best practices related to information security; exercises good judgment to protect the confidentiality integrity and availability of Denton County computer systems and electronic records; supports compliance with CJIS HIPAA and other information security regulations.
- Displays and reflects the culture mission vision values and direction of the department.
- Regular and punctual attendance is required.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED completion of some college level course work and a minimum five years of experience in a related field; or any equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
- Bachelors degree in related field preferred.
- Possession of a valid drivers license obtain a valid Texas drivers license within 90 days of employment.
- Must not have any Class B misdemeanor or higher convictions or deferred adjudications.
- Advanced Microsoft Office application skills including Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook required.
- Experience in training delivery instructional design content development and Learning Management System (LMS) administration experience preferred.
