CHEMICAL PROCESSOR


Shift: Rotating (6:00 AM 2:30 PM and 2:00 PM 12:30 AM)
Assignment Type: Temp-to-Hire


The Chemical Machine Operator will be responsible for operating monitoring and maintaining chemical processing equipment in a manufacturing environment. This role requires attention to detail adherence to safety protocols and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting. The operator will ensure production goals are met while maintaining high-quality standards and compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Machine Operation:
    • Set up operate and monitor chemical processing machines (mixers blenders reactors extruders etc.).
    • Adjust machine settings and controls to meet production specifications.
    • Ensure proper feed of raw materials and additives into machines.
  • Batch Processing & Quality Control:
    • Measure weigh and mix chemicals according to precise formulations.
    • Monitor production batches to ensure consistency and quality.
    • Take samples for lab analysis and adjust processes based on test results.
  • Safety & Compliance:
    • Follow all OSHA safety regulations and company safety protocols including handling hazardous materials properly.
    • Wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and participate in safety training.
    • Monitor and report any spills leaks or abnormal equipment conditions.
  • Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
    • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of machinery.
    • Identify and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and escalate major issues to the maintenance team.
  • Warehouse & Material Handling (if applicable):
    • Operate a forklift to transport raw materials finished products and waste materials.
    • Load and unload materials from machines and storage areas safely.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (vocational training a plus).
  • Experience: 1 years as a Machine Operator in a batch chemical or manufacturing plant.
  • Skills:
    • Understanding of chemical mixing processes.
    • Ability to read and interpret SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) batch records and safety guidelines.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with hazardous materials.
    • Forklift experience is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Work in environments exposed to chemicals heat noise and rotating shifts.
  • Comfortable wearing PPE such as gloves goggles and respirators.
