Chemical Pilot Plant Engineer
Cincinnati OH (onsite role)
Job Overview:
Our client is seeking a local candidate for this role. They produce food additives using state-of-the-art drying technologies and also develop new processes and equipment for emerging clients including chemical producers. The company designs and installs custom skid-mounted units for both in-house use and client production facilities working with outside fabricators. Approximately 70% of this engineers time will be spent in the pilot plant or on the production floor developing new processes and equipment improvements based on input from coworkers clients and personal innovation. The remaining 30% will involve process simulation (with the guidance of a senior engineer) analyzing process data and setting up lab experiments using tools such as CFD MATLAB Aspen HYSYS Fluent or COMSOL. The role also includes assisting engineers with CAD design work. The position offers mentoring from senior engineers on both plant and pilot processes. Compensation includes a 10% performance bonus and salary will be commensurate with experience.
Requirements:
- B.S. M.S. or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering based in the Cincinnati area with 5-15 years of experience in a pilot plant research or scale-up environment.
- Experience with Aspen HYSYS SIMSCI CFD Fluent COMSOL or MATLAB; strong data analysis skills required.
- Experience specifying and installing equipment (at any scale) in a lab or production setting.
- Must demonstrate strong communication skills hands-on ability and self-motivation.
