We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Field Engineering Internto join our growing team on the City of Peorias ADA transition plan project. This role will work closely with the Design Team Leader.
As a valued Intern at IEI this internship will provide you with exposure to real projects and the opportunity to work alongside senior staff and build you skills ask questions and benefit from their extensive knowledge. Essential Duties/Functions and Responsibilities Includes but not limited to the following: - This Part-Time Internship Schedule will work Monday-Friday4 to 8 hours long with no more than 40 hours of work per week.
- The project is expected to end in December 2025 but may be extended.
- Data collection of intersection corners for evaluation of ADA compliance.
- Attend training for the hardware and software used to complete the data collection.
- Data collection will be on foot (walking) up to 10 miles per workday in all areas of the City of Peoria in various outside weather conditions.
- Data will be uploaded at the IEI Peoria office at the end of each day.
- Being a part of the internship program gives you early access to our full-time post-graduation opportunities
- View and measure on construction site
- Organization management - scan and file projects
- Review existing conditions and existing site photo
- Develop knowledge of engineering standards as well as state and local regulations
- The IEI Internship program offers exposure to a blend of field and office knowledge
- A drivers license and vehicle is required to get to the job site. Mileage will be reimbursed or a rental car will be provided.

- You will bring your A-game every day and come ready to apply what youve learned in school to real life projects and business practices!
- Must be actively enrolled in and pursuing a degree an accredited Civil Engineering Construction Management or closely related Undergraduate Program
- You must be authorized to work in the U.S. and not require visa sponsorship for the internship and future employment
- Demonstrated interest in infrastructure or related field and a strong desire to advance skills related to IEIs work and projects
- Capable to communicate and interact effectively and successfully with project managers project engineers and other staff
- Demonstrate strong verbally and written skills using proper spelling grammar and punctuation
- Enjoys working in a diverse and inclusive work environment
- Must a be self-starter reliable self-motivated inquisitive and thrive on figuring things out
- Demonstrate leadership skills and take initiative
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook) MS Teams and navigating the Internet

- Acquire real world written and verbal communication and become comfortable talking to clients and co-workers
- Knowledge of structure of weekly meetings
