Job Description
Kforce has a client that is seeking an SQL Server Database Administrator in Tampa FL. Summary: The SQL Server DBA will be responsible for the design and delivery of database technology to solve business needs. The candidate will also maintain effective internal control of the database involving implementation tuning throughput optimization security and integrity of the environment.
- 7 plus years on microsoft sQL server and 5 years in SQL Azure
Knowledge of:
- Entra ID authentication
- Azure SQL Server network security
- Azure networking principles
Expert-level experience in operational automation for database administration.
Required knowledge of PowerShell scripting.
Familiarity with third-party DBA tools such as Toad pgAdmin DBeaver dbForge and Visual Studio.
Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate (preferred.
PostgreSQL experience a plus.
Required Skills : * Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate (preferred) * Experience level: 7 - 10 years * 7 years of experience in MS SQL Azure environments including Azure SQL PaaS * Extensive knowledge and experience in development and/or application-based troubleshooting in SQL server * Demonstrated experience in application support with industry knowledge of ITIL service management principles * Extensive technical understanding that spans multiple platforms and application level expertise of a portfolio of applications with broad knowledge of the business strategic priorities in order to resolve complex problems * Required knowledge of PowerShell scripting * Familiarity with third-party DBA tools such as Toad pgAdmin DBeaver dbForge and Visual Studio * Additional Info: The SQL workload has transitioned to Azure PaaS so it is critical the resource has hands-on experience supporting DBs in Azure * Strong background in SQL development including writing and troubleshooting stored procedures functions tables views triggers indexes and constraints. * Expertise in analyzing SQL execution plans to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks * Hands-on experience with Performance Monitor Extended Events and other monitoring/troubleshooting tools * Skilled in query optimization blocking and deadlock resolution and diagnosing performance issues in critical scenarios * Proficient in troubleshooting database integrity replication log shipping connectivity and security issues * Strong understanding of Azure backup and restore processes (local and remote Azure SQL servers) * Familiarity with Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) in backup/restore operations and implementation * PostgreSQL experience a plus Knowledge of: * Entra ID authentication * Azure SQL Server network security * Azure networking principles * Expert-level experience in operational automation for database administration
