Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Float (ER Med/Surg Progressive Care Unit)

Rate: $31.00 $43.00/hour Full Benefits
Shift: 12-Hour Nights 36 Hours/Week Guaranteed
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
Position Summary: We are seeking a versatile Registered Nurse (RN) for a Float Pool position to provide high-quality care across the Emergency Room (ER) Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) and Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The Float RN will coordinate and deliver comprehensive nursing care collaborating across departments and adapting to a fast-paced dynamic environment. This is a resource role requiring flexibility critical thinking and the ability to function independently in multiple units.
Essential Responsibilities: -
Conduct full head-to-toe assessments and reassessments per policy across age groups: pediatric adult and geriatric.

Accurately assess and manage pain using appropriate techniques and education.

Formulate revise and evaluate individualized care plans based on patient response.

Administer medications safely using the Six Rights of Medication Administration.

Demonstrate strong knowledge of medications and treatments relevant to patient age and condition.

Assist physicians with procedures; perform technical skills within scope of licensure.

Proficient in cardiac monitoring rhythm recognition and ACLS-based interventions.
-
Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data; respond to clinical changes quickly and appropriately.

Provide specialized care for patients with compromised metabolic/nutritional and fluid/electrolyte needs.

Educate patients and families to ensure understanding and compliance with care plans.

Communicate effectively with physicians coworkers and interdisciplinary team members.
-
Remain organized and perform well in high-pressure time-sensitive situations.

Support unit functions including transfers admissions and procedural assistance.
Requirements: -
Minimum 2 years of RN experience in Emergency Department Med/Surg and/or PCU Required

Must be willing and able to float across multiple units as needed This is a Float Position

Strong adaptability and ability to take initiative in a support/resource role Required

High proficiency in both ER and Med/Surg/PCU Required

Rural/small hospital experience Highly Preferred
