Job Title: Athletic Trainer

Job Summary The Athletic Trainer will work in close collaboration with students parents coaches and healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care for student-athletes within the local school district. The role focuses on injury prevention clinical evaluation and diagnosis emergency and immediate care treatment rehabilitation and overall wellness support for athletes engaged in school athletic programs.
Responsibilities: - Apply an outward mindset consistently striving to achieve goals while helping others accomplish theirs.
- Provide expertise in five core competencies: injury prevention evaluation and diagnosis immediate/emergency care rehabilitation and recovery and healthcare operations management.
- Collaborate with licensed physicians students parents coaches and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Conduct injury assessments patient triage medical history collection and equipment/brace fitting.
- Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation and injury prevention plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Coordinate patient self-care strategies design home exercise programs and provide educational resources.
- Monitor patient progress track outcomes and report to the rehabilitation manager.
- Lead community education efforts around athletic training wellness promotion and injury prevention.
- Support program growth through innovative initiatives outreach and engagement.
- Communicate with the athletic director and rehab manager to organize schedules ensure event coverage and coordinate care.
- Provide on-site medical coverage for high school athletic events and serve as a resource for athletes and coaches.
- Participate in departmental and community meetings wellness events and sports performance training programs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for athletic training needs facilitating appointments and consultations as needed.
Requirements - Education/Certification:
- Active Michigan Athletic Trainer License (required at submission; will accept pending if already applied ETA must be provided).
- BLS Certification (AHA) Required.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of Sports Medicine/Athletic Training experience Required.
