The R&D Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting research and new product development initiatives particularly in the area of polycarbonate (PC) card manufacturing. This role requires out-of-the-box creative thinking and hands-on collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include creating managing and updating technical documentation supporting process development and applying deep expertise in plastics lamination and PC card production. The technician will work closely with graphical design offset and screen printing hologram stamping window cutting laser personalization and die-cutting. They will also interface with operations manufacturing engineering maintenance quality and suppliers to ensure seamless integration of new technologies. As part of the Document Security Group (DSG) the technician will contribute to patentable innovations and help foster a friendly constructive and collaborative work environment.

• Supporting new product development and innovation in DSG.
• Collaborating with graphical design and printing teams.
• Contributing to innovation in hologram stamping window cutting laser personalization and die-cutting processes.
• Working closely with operations to foster a positive work environment.
• Interfacing with manufacturing engineering maintenance quality and suppliers.
• Contributing to patentable ideas and documentation.
• Maintaining accurate documentation and communication throughout development cycles

Your Experience and Background include:

• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 10 years of experience in polycarbonate (PC) card manufacturing.
• At least 5 years of experience working under federal contracts requiring a security clearance.
• Some experience working in a clean room environment is a plus.
• Strong communication and responsiveness.
• Outstanding commitment to customer service and quality
• Independent proactive and self-driven with a can-do attitude
