You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailJOB DESCRIPTION: - Patrols facilities and property make observations to detect unauthorized persons activities unsafe conditions and ensure life safety standards are maintained. - Maintains appropriate communication with Supervisors fellow Officers Security Operations Center and Law Enforcement to report crimes incidents and safety related irregularities. - Intervene in disputes between individuals by using verbal de-escalation techniques and skills to diffuse potentially violent patient employee or visitor situations. - Investigates and document incidents through both written and electronic format as required: Safety hazards incidents and criminal activities to Public Safety Leadership - Controls access to restricted organizational properties and verifies the admittance of authorized individuals. Escorts people/property to desired destination when safety of property or individuals is a concern. Assists with parking and security during special events and provides visitors with directions and security information. Performs security services and dispatcher duties when assigned. - Participates in activities not directly related to Security operations as approved by Security Management. These may include transport and release of bodies from the morgue; patient escort; elevator recall checks; monthly fire extinguisher panic alarm and intercom checks; and special event setups. Interviews and investigates individuals involved in suspicious or illegal activities. - Detains unauthorized individuals in compliance with state and federal law Officers are required to use force when appropriate to protect patients staff and visitors at an Emory Healthcare facility.
