Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Travel Position
Location: Georgetown KY
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12s
Pay: $1992/week
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join on a travel contract in Georgetown KY. The L&D Nurse will provide compassionate expert care to mothers and newborns during the antepartum intrapartum and postpartum stages. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented adaptable and experienced in managing both routine and high-risk deliveries in a hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to women during labor delivery and recovery.
- Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs contractions and overall progress.
- Administer medications and IV therapies including epidural support as directed.
- Assist physicians and midwives during vaginal and cesarean births.
- Educate patients and families on birthing processes postpartum care and newborn care.
- Document assessments interventions and patient outcomes promptly and accurately.
- Collaborate with obstetricians anesthesiologists and neonatal teams to ensure safe outcomes.
- Maintain adherence to hospital protocols infection control standards and safety practices.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse license in Kentucky (or compact license).
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Labor and Delivery nursing experience.
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification preferred.
- COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
- Strong assessment communication and patient-education skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in fast-paced high-acuity environments.
