Job Summary/Description:
WVVA a Gray Local Media station in Bluefield WV is looking for the right meteorologist to join our award-winning weather and news team as a Weekend Meteorologist/Multimedia Journalist. If you are looking for an opportunity to forecast the weather in Four Seasons country here it is!
The weather is of the utmost importance to our station and our community. We are looking for a self-motivated committed to quality meteorologist who has a passion for both weather and news information. Candidate must be a knowledgeable forecaster compelling storyteller and team player for this critical Weekend Meteorologist/Multimedia Journalist role.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Anchors weekend weather.
Create and deliver accurate forecasts.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Generate leadable and original story ideas during weekdays as a multimedia journalist.
Work well under pressure in deadline-driven situations.
Ability to connect with the audience.
Qualifications/Requirements:
A bachelors degree in meteorology or a related field is preferred.
A strong social media background to engage and respond to our community is a plus.
Basic experience with weather computer systems is preferred.
Must have a valid drivers license and pass a motor vehicle records check.
