Position Summary: This position serves as a bridge of communication for carryover activities between shifts while leading assigned manufacturing personnel to safely machine and fabricate quality parts on time and within the estimated hours. Serves as a technical resource for the personnel on their assigned shift. Must also ensure activity supports the companys objectives are being met including project cost quality and safety related factors.
Reports To:Director of Manufacturing
Personnel: Manufacturing personnel assigned to the shift.
Accountabilities: To lead the shift to produce quality parts on time at the processed hours. To lead the shop in maintaining their areas according to 6S and Lean Manufacturing standards. Plays an integral part in the training and development of manufacturing personnel on assigned shifts. To ensure that manufacturing personnel are held accountable to performance expectations and initiates appropriate performance feedback and discipline according to company policy.
Authorities: Supervisory authority over assigned shifts. Assigns personnel to appropriate tasks based on skill set.

Job Qualification Requirements:
Educational Experience Educational requirements may be fulfilled by one or more of the following: Minimum requirement of High School Diploma or GED; with additional Trade School / Vocational School education some college education or relevant job experience of at least 3 years in either machining or fabrication.
Experience Ten years minimum manufacturing experience. Previous supervisory experience is required. Must be highly competent in the trade being supervised. Must have a basic understanding of machining or welding processes advanced fabricating techniques fixturing/sub assembly weldments quality processes NDT materials heat treatment Visual Manufacturing and maintenance.
Physical Demands Normally works in a shop environment and may frequently be subject to:

Visual Acuity Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges blueprints and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts and machinery.
Hearing Ability Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action.
