Job Description Summary
The Utility/Grounds Worker will be responsible for trash removal event setups/ breakdown according to scheduled events Completion of assigned work orders light grounds work Project work ie: shampoo carpets strip floors burnish floors window washing etc. and other related duties as required.

Monday - Friday 7:00am 3:30pm
Location: Simmons University - Boston MA
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the placement and set-up of tables chairs club tables cocktail tables and any other furniture utilized by the University to meet the needs of its various clients and departments.
- Remove trash from assigned dorm buildings and dispose in appropriate compactors.
- Complete assigned work orders in a safe and timely manner.
- Ability and working knowledge of floor equipment; burnishing machines floor scrubbers extractor machines wet/dry vacuums etc. is preferred but not necessary.
- Properly clean and buff tile floor services as needed.
- Maintain an ongoing rotation building by building of detailed project work
- Working knowledge of proper floor chemicals used in the process of flooring projects.
- Stripping and waxing as well as carpet extraction occurs occasionally throughout the year.
- During the winter months this position will be responsible for snow removal and is considered a mandatory part of this position.
- Follow all safety and personnel rules and regulations.
Requirements:
- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions in English.
- Minimum of 2-5 years experience in Janitorial work
- Janitorial experience in a Higher Education account a plus
- Must hold and maintain a valid drivers license per job requirements
- 1-3 years working experience in floor care.
- 1-3 years working knowledge with custodial chemicals
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to work effectively with a team.
- Ability to work independently as needed to support the group effort.
- Must be able to perform all physical aspects of the above job duties including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs

The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
The compensation for the position is: $20.57 - $24.20
