Job Description

As a valued contributor to our team you will advise on risk monitoring and reviews for the organization coordinate risk mitigation activities and provide risk mitigation assistance to other groups. You will be part of a team that fosters an ethical company culture by monitoring identifying assessing and reporting on potential risks through administration of the Ethics Helpline and establishing communicating and advancing Fannie Maes ethical values and principles by promoting adherence to the Codes of Conduct applicable law regulations and policies.

The Ethics Analyst role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Monitor the Ethics Helpline the 24/7 channel for employees and third parties to submit questions concerns and seek assistance with ethical decision-making by appropriately responding to and triaging questions and reports into alleged violations of policies laws and regulations. Be part of a team that cultivates a culture of ethics and compliance within Fannie Mae.

  • Conduct intake meet/communicate with Ethics Helpline reporters and document related reports accurately and confidentially.

  • Evaluate reported concerns with a demonstrated understanding of the risks presented to the company.

  • Establish collaborate with and maintain strong relationships within the company to effectively advise and/or respond to reported inquiries and concerns.

  • Use case management systems to track the status of reports and investigations.

  • Analyze Ethics Helpline data and reporting trends to identify potentially systemic issues and recommend related action.

  • Develop and execute high-level strategies and plans to support business units with review of transactions recordkeeping and communications subject to specific regulations and/or company policies.

  • Act as consultant to business units or cross functional teams to ensure adherence to compliance and ethics regulations and policies. Study highly complex data. Present insights and draft memoranda as needed. Advise management of significant findings in clear practicable and actionable language.

  • Gather data reports and documentation pertinent to regulatory reports and filings for regulatory agencies. Implement optimum solutions considering policies and current regulations.

  • Assist with development implementation and improvements to ethics-related policies and procedures and regulatory reporting matters.

  • Assist with projects involving technology or the development of new procedures to ensure that pertinent regulatory concerns are addressed in the projects outcomes.

  • Assist with the design development and delivery of training to staff on ethics/compliance topics.

  • Analyze and stay abreast of industry trends and emerging risks.

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Minimum Required Skills & Experiences

  • 4 6 years of related or translatable legal or compliance experience.

  • Inter-personal communication skills with the ability to present to and influence colleagues at all levels of the organization including senior management.

  • Ability to serve as an initial point of contact for employees and third parties on a broad range of compliance and ethics matters.

  • Experience conducting investigations trainings risk assessments and/or conflicts reviews.

  • Demonstrated experience in handling highly sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of discretion.

  • Excellent professional judgment ability and confidence to manage effectively to multiple deadlines with competing priorities.

  • Highly collaborative; must demonstrate the ability to build trusting relationships throughout the company and interact with all levels of management.

  • Working knowledge of the compliance discipline.

  • Keen attention to detail ability to issue-spot think creatively and excellent organizational and analytical skills.

  • Ability to develop expertise in departments technologies and applications necessary to role and track work in software.

Desired Skills & Experiences

  • Experience in analyzing and advising on complex compliance matters especially compliance and ethics questions and policies conflict of Interest polices business courtesies/gift and entertainment policies and Codes of Conduct.

  • Knowledge of company Codes of Conduct applicable to large highly regulated corporations.

  • Experience in conducting interviews and research into precedent and ability to develop and maintain best practices exemplars and work product to assist with responding to compliance and ethics matters.

  • Experience in serving as key a point of contact for employees in multiple areas of the company regarding corporate policies.

  • Experience in developing communicating and making recommendations concerning company policies and procedures relating to intake of questions and reports.

The hiring range for this role is set forth below. Final salaries will generally vary within that range based on factors that include but are not limited to skill set depth of experience certifications and other relevant qualifications.
