Job Description

Perkins&Wills Washington DC Studio is seeking a highly motivated Senior Project Manager with a minimum of 10 years of experience including work on significant healthcare projects. Were seeking a confident communicator and skilled client manager who can guide complex projects through all phases of the design process from concept development to construction administration. Candidates should bring a strong record of leading teams toward innovative human-centric and sustainable design solutions through a collaborative team approach.

The ideal candidate not only excels in project execution but also participates in outward-facing activities such as representing the studio in client engagements public presentations and industry forums as well as contributing to business development efforts.

Your baseline responsibilities include but are not limitedâto:ââ

  • Responsible for leading all phases of the design process with a high level of proficiency and expertise while adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in design execution and living design.â
  • Full responsibility for managing all aspects of projectsâto ensure efficient execution within scope and budget.â
  • Manages project teams fostersâcollaborationâdemonstrates strong and effective communication and direction which inspires high team performance design ideasâand successful project delivery.â
  • Leads effortâin developing and validating projectâscopeâfeeâbudgetâand servicesâduring the marketing and contract development process.â
  • Accountableâforâcomplete and timely communication of project information to and from clients and the project team.ââ
  • Responsible for managing projects using theâDeltekâProject Management system; completes work plans inâDeltekâincluding identification of project team members budget consultants schedule for completion feesâand costs as well as project change notices or other actions taking place on the assigned project.â
  • Works with the Project Architectâand Sr. Project Architectâto avoid or eliminate conflicts in the schedule due to the changes in various projects.â
  • Provides ongoing communication through team meetingsâminutes andâmemos toâthe projectâteam.â
  • Communicates withâclientsâconsultants contractors sub-consultantsâand other disciplines to ensure effective communication.â
  • Monitorsâconstruction administration during the construction phase.â
  • Understands and responds to technical implications and design decisions.ââ
  • Participates in marketing opportunities andâdevelops successful client relationships forâcontinuingâbusiness.â
  • Controls risk management by monitoring client issues and call issues promptly.â
  • Reviewsâwork for accuracy omissions legibility and document compliance in accordance with the Project Delivery Manual.ââ
  • Coordinates staffing resources with the Operations Director.
  • Mentor staff.â

  • Presentation Tools (InDesign Photoshopâetc.)ââ

Requirementsâ

  • Candidates must hold an active architectural license in the United Statesâorâan Interior Design license/certification (NCIDQ)
  • Bachelors degree in architecture or related discipline required
  • LEED GA within 6 months of hire
  • Professional Accreditation in one area of Living Design that interests you: LEED AP with Specialty BREEAM AP WELL AP SITES AP Passive House Institute Certified Passive House Consultant/Designer CPHC/CPHD or ILFI Living Future Accreditation

Salary Range Information

At the time of posting this job advertisement the annual pay salary range for this position is betweenâ$129000 and $189000â commensurate with qualifications.
