The Operations Director leads Sunrise Enterprises business operations with a focus on sustainability quality and mission impact. This role oversees day-to-day operations develops business models manages customer and vendor contracts and uses performance metrics to guide decision-making. As a member of the executive team the Operations Director provides leadership to staff contributes to strategic planning and presents directly to the board. The position ensures Sunrises enterprises run effectively remain financially responsible and create meaningful jobs for individuals with disabilities.

  • Wage: $DOE
  • Hours: Typically Mon - Friday some nights and weekends possible
    • 8:00am-4:30pm
  • Location: 3443 Carnes Road Roseburg OR 97471

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 5 years in operations business management or nonprofit/social enterprise leadership.
  • Experience supervising staff and developing high-performing teams.
  • Proven success in evaluating or guiding new business initiatives.
  • Skilled in contract negotiation and management.
  • Familiarity with Sunrises existing business lines (retail wood products janitorial transportation) is a plus.
  • Strong business judgment with practical problem-solving skills.
  • Financial acumen including ability to review and interpret financial performance.
  • Clear communicator with board staff customers and community partners.
  • Collaborative leader who balances business growth with mission outcomes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other business management tools.
  • Pass criminal history check. (May include fingerprinting.)
  • Pass drug screen including THC.
  • Have a current Oregon Drivers License with the ability to qualify for the Sunrise Enterprises Drivers Program/Insurance.
  • Must have ability and desire to relate to persons with physical/mental disabilities with dignity and respect.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Operational Leadership
  • Lead daily operations across Sunrise divisions to ensure efficiency consistency and sustainability.
  • Provide direct supervision coaching and professional development for managers and staff.
  • Foster a positive inclusive workplace that aligns with Sunrises mission and values.
  • Review financial and performance reports; share clear recommendations with leadership and the board.
  • Implement quality assurance systems to ensure services and products meet expectations.
Mission Alignment
  • Partner with Employment Services to align operations with person-centered employment opportunities.
  • Ensure operational decisions expand training and job placement for individuals with disabilities.
  • Maintain professional mutually beneficial relationships with community partners.
Business Development & Growth
  • Assess feasibility of new or expanded business ventures that support Sunrises mission.
  • Prepare pro formas and business cases for board and executive review.
  • Present financial and mission ROI to guide decisions on current and proposed operations.
  • Support improvements that strengthen revenue and expand employment opportunities.
Customers Vendors & Community Partnerships
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with customers vendors and suppliers.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships that support repeat business and reliable operations.
  • Promote Sunrises products and services to increase sales and community visibility.
  • Ensure all agreements provide value and advance Sunrises long-term goals.
General
  • Perform duties and complete tasks as requested by supervisor in a reasonable amount of time.
  • Maintain agency records in a professional manner consistent with prescribed guidelines and expectations.
  • Attend and participate in required meetings trainings and committees.
  • Exhibit good judgment in situations not specifically covered by agency policy and/or procedures.
  • Report any safety hazards accidents incidents of neglect abuse emergencies or problems to supervisor and/or appropriate person per policy.
  • Meet regular attendance requirements at assigned worksite because the position requires face-to-face interaction with clients customers or other employees and/or community involvement.
