Controls Commissioning Agent - Mission-Critical / Data Centers - Chicago IL

The Controls Commissioning Engineer will execute onsite commissioning plans provide and gather specifications and execute assignments. The commissioning agent adheres to a thorough quality management - QM / QA / QC process and procedures that validate and document our clients systems. Commissioning methodology covers a wide range of procedures to verify the integrity and performance of their customers mission critical support infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Lead commissioning activities for BAS/BMS systems on data center projects from installation through client turnover for Electrical and Mechanical Equipment
- Troubleshoot validate and repair control system hardware and software (relays controllers sensors etc.)
- Execute commissioning plans develop test procedures and perform functional performance testing
- Review and interpret control drawings schematics and sequences of operation
- Evaluate control strategies and implement system optimization recommendations
- Provide QA/QC oversight for controls installations and ensure proper documentation and adherence to standards
- Test programming logic for peak HVAC system performance
- Diagnose and repair electronic control system issues
- Conduct operations and maintenance program analysis and provide recommendations for improvement
- Develop commissioning documentation reports training material and punch lists
- Collaborate with project managers contractors engineers and client representatives throughout the project lifecycle
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience with data center commissioning or building automation system integration
- Data Center Commissioning experience highly preferred
- 5 years of experience with BMS / BAS / EPMS systems(Building monitoring systems / building control systems / Building Automation Systems / electrical power monitoring systems
- Experience with PLC SCADA Tridium ALCDESIGO etc.
- Previous experience working on Controls Products from companies such as: Johnson Controls / JCI; Siemens; Automated Logic ; Honeywell ; GE Control Systems ; Schneider Electric ; Rockwell Automation
- Knowledge of various electronic / digital control systems and industry standard control protocols (BACnet Modbus OPC)
- Ability to read and audit one-lines technical drawings and control diagrams
- Experience with capital projects retrofits and upgrades in critical facilities
- Highly organized with a strong understanding of QA/QC procedures and commissioning best practices
- Experience with CMMS systems particularly Maximo.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering a huge plus
- Previous experience in the Military / Military Veterans a huge plus! Experience with Electrical / Mechanical: Navy Nukes - EMN ETN MMNs Seabees Army - Power Generation Air Force Power Production Generator Techs Maritime Coast Guard Army National Guard etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong documentation and presentation abilities
- Superior analytical planning and problem resolution skills
- Highly organized with proved project management abilities
