Position Description
At ESB data sits in the centre of our business providing insights to support better business decisions. The Data and Analytics team is an award-winning group of highly motivated and skilled professionals working to support data-informed decision-making right across the ESB organisation. We work in a collaborative agile way interpreting data sets from our financial operational network and customer systems. The SAP Analytics teamsupportsanalytics solutions that drive value forESB by providing expertise in extracting and reporting data from our SAP landscape to meet business requirements. The SAP Analytics Lead is a key role in the management of the design development and delivery of a broad range of reporting solutions across ESBs highly integrated data landscape. The SAP Analytics Lead will manage a team of specialists skilled in SAP Business Objects Data Services (BODS) SAP BW and SAP BO reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a high performing team of SAP BODS SAP BW and BO specialists.
- Leverage the capability of SAP BODS to develop robust data pipelines from SAP data and other sources to meeting business and analytical requirements.
- Develop the SAP BW and BO environments to proliferate self-service data analytics for business users requiring SAP data.
- Partner with data scientists data analysts and business analysts by supporting them in understanding the meaning of SAP data to enable the development of insights delivering business value.
- Champion data management by cataloguing SAP data BW and BO reports and data lineage for increased data literacy across the organisation.
- Drive the team to maintain data quality standards in SAP data pipelines and reports to meet business needs.
- Facilitate the maintenance of our SAP Analytics environment by staying current on SAP BW BODS and BO versions and service packs.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- 7 years experience in Data Engineering and Analytics with 5 years experience in SAP BODS and BW reporting.
- SAP BODS expertise in understanding ETL processes data integration and job design and in-depth knowledge of SAP BW and familiarity with data modelling InfoProviders and query design.
- SAP BO experience in understanding how reports are developed and used.
- Knowledgeable on the structure of SAP ERP and meaning of its data.
- Performance Management by setting KPIs conducting reviews and driving accountability.
- Excellent skills in stakeholder management translating technical details into business value and project management
- Third level qualification in an IT / Computer Science or business discipline is desirable or equivalent business experience.
Desirable
- Hands on experience of SAP BW SAP BW/4HANA SAP Data Services 4.2 SAP BO BI 4.x or BI 2025.
- Functional knowledge and understanding of data structures in SAP ISU and SAP S/4HANA.
- Experience of the data migration process from strategy and planning through to execution go-live and UAT for migration to S/4HANA.
- SAP Support Pack and upgrade implementation experience.
- Knowledge of standard testing practices for SAP Projects.
- Experience in the energy utilities industry.
- SAP BI (BODS/BO/BW)& SAP HANA Application Certification
Location
This position will be based in ESB Head Office 27 Lower Fitzwilliam Street Dublin 2.

Salary
69000 - 81000 per annum.
