Job Summary

Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminarys campus the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

Job Summary

The Lawn Care Worker is responsible for maintaining the church grounds in a clean safe and attractive condition. This includes mowing lawns trimming hedges removing debris and performing seasonal landscaping tasks to ensure the exterior of the church reflects the values and hospitality of the parish community.

Job Responsibilities

Mow lawns trim edges and maintain flower beds and shrubbery.
Water grass trees and other landscaping as needed.
Perform seasonal tasks such as leaf removal snow removal (if applicable) planting and mulching.
Remove litter branches and debris from church property including playgrounds parking lots and walkways.
Maintain landscaping tools and equipment; report any maintenance or repair needs.
Ensure all walkways and entrances are safe and clear of hazards.
Assist with setup or takedown of outdoor events (e.g. church picnics festivals processions).
Monitor sprinkler/irrigation systems and report issues.
Work cooperatively with church staff and volunteers.
Adhere to safety guidelines and uphold the mission and values of the church

Job Requirements

Prior experience in lawn care landscaping or groundskeeping preferred.
Ability to operate and maintain landscaping equipment (e.g. lawnmowers trimmers blowers).
Physical ability to perform manual labor outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
Dependable punctual and respectful of church property and purpose.
Commitment to supporting the mission and welcoming environment of the church.
Must pass background check and comply with diocesan safe environment policies (if applicable).
