Job Summary
Pipelayer
Firma Contracting is currently seeking an experienced Pipelayer to work on underground utility projects located in western Canada. We offer competitive wages matching RRSP program health & dental benefits work / life balance great opportunity for advancement training and work over the winter.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Installation of water storm and sanitary pipe
- Follow the established grade for water storm and sanitary pipe
- Work closely with mainline operator and top man to ensure efficient flow and production
- Provide a high degree of clear communication with operators top man and workers in the ditch to maintain safe operations and quality installation
- Continuous assessment of risk and implementation of required controls / mitigations
- Complete site documentation as required
- Participate in inspections and incidents - address deficiencies / issues through corrective actions
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner with honesty and integrity
Required Skills:
- 3 years of pipelayer experience is required
- Underground utility rehabilitation / replacement experience is an asset
- Ability to read blueprints
- High attention to detail and management of quality specifications
- Safety conscious
- Strong understanding of pipe installation process and flow logistics
- Competent in the use of various rigging techniques and mechanisms
- Able to work independently and follow instruction from the foreman
- Able to support other positions as needed
- Strong communication skills provide instructions clearly with sufficient detail
- Ability to mentor workers for advancement
- Physically capable of performing heavy manual labour
- Consistent reliable and always show up for work fit for duty
