The Engineering Flake Process Line Lead is responsible for overseeing the design installation commissioning and continuous improvement of the flake process line within a manufacturing or production facility. This role ensures that the process line operates efficiently safely and in compliance with quality standards while meeting production targets. The Process Line Lead acts as the technical expert and primary point of contact for all engineering matters related to the flake process coordinating cross-functional teams and liaising with external vendors and stakeholders as required.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Process Line Management: Lead the end-to-end management of the flake process line including planning scheduling resource allocation and performance monitoring.
- Engineering Design & Optimization: Oversee the engineering design layout and specification of equipment for the flake process. Drive process optimization initiatives to enhance throughput yield and product quality.
- Installation & Commissioning: Manage the installation and commissioning of new equipment and technologies ensuring seamless integration with existing operations.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Serve as the subject matter expert for technical issues troubleshooting process or equipment problems and implementing effective solutions.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and execute projects to improve process efficiency reduce waste and enhance safety and sustainability.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of engineers technicians and operators working on the flake process line.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all process activities comply with internal quality standards and external regulatory requirements.
- Health Safety & Environment: Promote and enforce a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to HSE policies and procedures within the process line.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with production maintenance quality and supply chain teams to ensure alignment of objectives and effective communication.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of process parameters incidents and improvement projects. Prepare regular reports for management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in chemical engineering Mechanical Engineering Process Engineering or a related field. A masters degree or relevant professional certification is advantageous.
- Significant experience (typically 5 years) in process engineering or production management within a relevant industry (e.g. plastics food recycling chemicals).
- Proven track record of managing process lines ideally with a focus on flakes or similar continuous processes.
- Strong knowledge of process design equipment specification and process optimization techniques.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving and project management skills.
- Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with process control systems automation and relevant software tools.
- Strong commitment to safety quality and continuous improvement.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluency in German and English; additional languages such as French or Dutch is a plus.
