About the Company
A leading multinational pharmaceutical company committed to improving patient health and wellness is seeking a skilled Legal Advisor (Contractor) to provide legal and compliance support to its operations in South Africa.
Role Overview
This 6-month contract role requires a seasoned legal professional who can deliver high-quality business-focused legal services. The successful candidate will support the business in drafting reviewing and negotiating legal documentation providing legal opinions and assisting in risk management initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft review and negotiate a wide range of commercial and corporate legal documents.
- Conduct legal research to support operations compliance and regulatory matters.
- Provide well-reasoned legal opinions and business-oriented legal advice.
- Identify assess and manage legal risks across the business.
- Ensure compliance with applicable legislation industry regulations and internal policies.
- Liaise with external legal counsel when required.
Requirements
- LLB degree and admission as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
- Minimum 5 years post-articles experience preferably within a corporate/commercial law environment.
- Strong experience in drafting legal documents conducting research and delivering legal opinions.
- Solid knowledge of corporate and commercial law with exposure to compliance and risk management.
- Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Full-time in-office presence (Johannesburg) required for the duration of the contract.
