Administration and Management:
This is a senior level position that is expected to serve in an acting chief capacity during the absence of the section chief.
This position will be supervised by the OEMS Chief and has direct supervision of 6 managers within OEMS.
This position is essential in the preparation and management of the sections budget and required to ensure that all policies and procedures necessary for the efficient and effective operation of the section are in place and updated.
interagency Coordination
This position is tasked with coordinating the necessary integration between federal state and local governmental bodies as well as identifying and networking with organizations and associations that have a direct interest in the statutory and regulatory responsibilities assigned to the section.
These interactions are essential in avoiding redundant regulation of services shared between each of these bodies and ensuring that the areas necessary for the section to satisfy its regulatory responsibility are identified and integrated into the sections policies and procedures.
Planning & Development
Keeping the section aligned with healthcare trends and advancements in supportive technologies is crucial to the on-going development of statewide emergency medical trauma communications and data systems necessary for entities regulated by the section.
This involves strategic short- and long-range planning and implementation strategies that may require legislative or department involvement. Through use of internal and external work groups this position is expected to keep the section in step with the needs of our clients by removing any regulatory barriers hindering effective healthcare delivery and implementing enabling rules necessary to support these services.
Emergency Response:
Serve on call in 24/7 rotation in the State Emergency Operations Center Regional Coordination Center and/or other assigned operational site
Assess emergent situations and provide emergency medical resources as requested for emergency activations or responses across the state and to acknowledge verify and respond to requests for information.
Provide situation reports via information sharing platforms as necessary to keep NCOEMS SMRS Healthcare Preparedness Coalitions and partner organizations informed.
Manage all support requests in coordination with the State Emergency Response Team
Provide direction and coordination of emergency medical services as necessary until the situation is resolved relief is provided or functions are assumed by the established lead.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Masters degree and three years of experience in administration or community organization public administration or health care field preferably with two of the three years being in a supervisory capacity; or graduation from a four-year college/university and four years of experience in administration or community organization public administration or the health care field preferably with two of the four years being in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (former responsibility should include planning budgeting personnel management grants administration program evaluation and public relations.)
