Location/Division Specific Information

Seeking a motivated Depot Repair Engineer with expertise in cold storage and general lab equipment for our Hong Kong Laboratory Equipment Division.

As a Depot Repair Engineer with Thermo Fisher Scientific you are important in upholding the repair centers performance and improving customer service.

A day in the Life:

  • Represent our company in a positive professional manner in all dealings with Thermo Fisher Scientific customers both external and internal.
  • Perform troubleshooting including component and system failure analysis using standard diagnostic techniques.
  • Clean inspect and document the details of the pre-repair condition of chillers cold storage and the equipment that requires repair.
  • Replace non-conforming and preventive maintenance parts as required.
  • Perform full checkout testing and calibration of repaired instrumentation providing appropriate test data documentation and report after repair.
  • Responsible for optimizing and ensuring the accuracy of the provided tools and consignment parts.
  • Involved in continuous improvement through our Practical Process Improvement Business System.
  • Support ad-hoc projects field service and training. Work overtime or on weekends when required.

Education

  • Diploma or above in electrical or mechanical engineering.

Experience

  • 3 years or above of relevant work experience.
  • Less experienced candidates or fresh graduates with positive attitudes will be considered as Assistant Engineer/Technician.

Knowledge Skills Abilities

  • Experience with refrigeration systems including brazing copper pipes.
  • Must have a strong electrical or mechanical background for troubleshooting/repair and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in interpreting work instructions test procedures wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Chinese and English.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

This role involves working in a dynamic repair center environment requiring both physical dexterity and the ability to handle various laboratory equipment.
