Staff Accountants at HLH LLP gain valuable experience while working toward their CPA designation. As such they develop their understanding of the Handbook the Income Tax Act GST and HLH office processes. Cultivating their professional skills (e.g. technical judgment and application) and continuing to grow is the focus of this stage. Specific duties:
- Prepares financial statements and the related working papers
- Prepares corporate and personal income tax returns
- Deals directly with clients
- Gains experience in all areas of accounting
- Works directly with partners and senior staff on assignments
- Provides business strategy to clients by challenging the status quo and offering new ideas
- Identifies risk to the file review and partners and if possible recommends and documents how the risk was managed or mitigated
- Takes notes at meetings and shares them with other team members and the file
