The Clinical Care Program is currently recruiting a full-time temporary (12 months)Social Worker 2 to provide group treatment and programming for successful candidate will be a social worker with sound knowledge of emergency psychiatry concurrent disorders crisis intervention and substance use concerns. Experience in identifying and addressing psychosocial issues in both individual and group sessions is required. You will act as a resource to inpatient units across the Clinical Care Program and will collaborate with members of the interprofessioanl teams including Registered Nurses Recreation Therapists Psychiatrists and other Social Workers to deliver group treatment and programming. Your work will contribute to professional capacity building of interprofessional colleagues new to delivery of group treatment. Your skills include the ability to make behavioural observations mental status exam assessments monitoring of clients responses to care interventions and documentation and ongoing communication with other team members. You will liaise with community health care providers both within and outside CAMH. You must be capable of providing supervision to social work students and contributing to the development of best practices unique to mental health and concurrent disorder treatment. You will be expected to contribute to program development research and educational activities of the service. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity encourages teamwork and complies with all the applicable regulatory and legislative position is currently located at 1051 Queen Street West.

The successful candidate will possess a Masters of Social Work degree combined with a preferred 3 years of post-graduate work experience and be registered and a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service candidate must have direct clinical experience in a mental health or addiction treatment setting. Experience in an inpatient setting is an asset. The candidate will have demonstrated expertise in delivery of cognitive behavioural therapy motivational interviewing and dialectical behaviour therapy approaches; preference will be given to those who have certificates in these modalities. You will have demonstrated experience in facilitating groups. You must be eligible for an adjunct faculty appointment with the faculties of social work that has affiliation agreements with CAMH. Knowledge of concurrent disorders emergency psychiatry and crisis intervention principles and theory are required. Knowledge of CAMH and community services and experience with formulation and coordination of complex cases is essential. The model of care on the new unit will emphasize treatment of concurrent disorders and you will have opportunities for capacity building and skill development. You possess fundamental knowledge and application of the recovery-oriented approach to care. Excellent organizational interpersonal written communication skills computer skills including word processing electronic communication and workload measures are essential. The ability to provide culturally competent service to clients of diverse ethno racial and cultural backgrounds is essential. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.
