Within GE Vernova Gas Power you join the Electrical Department responsible for designing all the electrical systems of a power plant. The electrical design engineer is responsible of the equipment allocated on projects or development programs. She/he is the guarantor of the conformity of the equipment to the technical need in compliance with the time and deadlines set.
Job Description
General Responsibilities:
The engineer is responsible for:
- Prepare the functional specifications based on the sizing studies the contract the regulatory codes and standards applicable for this project the reference designs.
- Negotiate technically with suppliers the optimal solution.
- Responsible for the good realization by the supplier in collaboration with the purchasing and quality functions:
- Timely delivery of documentation (OTD)
- Documentary review ensuring that the design complies with the specification issued and good engineering practices
- Change management
- Factory tests.
- At the same time he/she:
- Organize design reviews with lead engineers
- Will support negotiations with the client.
- The engineer will also support the site teams during the installation and commissioning of the equipment.
Required Qualifications:
- Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience
- 5 years minimum ideally in the field of electrical distribution of industrial installations
- Knowledge of MS Office applications with proficiency in MS Excel MS Word MS Power Point
- Knowledge of main standards (IEC IEEE) knowledge of ANSI standards would be a plus
- Fluent in English
Desired Characteristics:
- Able to understand wiring diagrams arrangement drawings control diagrams signal list consumer list and other drawings issued by suppliers.
- Motivated and able to make technical decisions based on lead engineers.

- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a matrix environment with a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain working relationships with team members.
- Experience in organizing projects with successful experience communicating with cross-functional teams.
