The Director Liquidity and Risk Management & Risk Management identifies groupwide financial risk exposures (FX IR Commodities) and is responsible for executing appropriate risk mitigating hedging strategies as well as for managing short-term liquidity investments
Major accountabilities:
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Implement efficient cost effective and timely hedges through execution of FX derivative instruments (forwards swaps options) with brokers including algorithmic trading on electronic trading platforms
Design maintain and develop the currency risk exposure report achieve productivity improvements and adapt new interfaces to ensure internal and external audit standards
Monitor open hedge positions and assure correct input in the risk exposure report
Ongoing planning and management of cash balances of all group managed entities to ensure minimum cash holdings. Coordination and implementation of short-term maturing investments (deposits) to assure ongoing availability of funds for operational and financial needs (e.g. dividend business development and licencing deals)
Acts as advisor for all country related treasury and funding related matters while ensuring appropriate local entity capital structures are in place and supporting local entities in managing financial risks affecting the local profitability.
Act as centre of excellence related to all Sandoz exchange rates their reliability and distribution; Advise the business related to multicurrency and tender contracts
Contribute in projects related to specific risk management topics
Key performance indicators include: Manage the currency exposure in line with target Net Currency Result and ensure accuracy at any time; Achieve above-benchmark return on short-term investments
Minimum Requirements:
What youll bring to the role:
University or equivalent degree additional Treasury qualifications (CFA etc.) desired
Approximately 5-7 years of financial risk and liquidity management work experience ideally gained at a corporate treasury department of a multinational company and/ or a financial institution
Fluent (written and spoken) English.
Financial Markets and Trading: Proven relevant experience in analysing and interpreting FX Interest Rates and Commodity markets with a thorough understanding of best practice trade execution including multibank trading platforms
Risk Management: Deep expertise in identifying and managing financial risk positions with understanding of hedge accounting and how financial derivatives impact P&L
Strong analytical skills: Clear assessment of complex issues provide structured potential solutions and drive effective resolution with other (senior) stakeholders.
Leadership and communication skills: Able to set the right priorities in challenging and fast changing situations. Communicate clearly concisely and competently
Process improvement: Striving to identify and implement improvements relating to systems and processes particularly showing affinity to new technology
