Digital Media Advisor

Reference number: 10828

Closing date:11:00pm Thursday 2 October

  • Full-time Permanent position
  • Salary commencing at $82635.67 per annumplus 12% superannuation (commensurate with experience)
  • Assist with the development and distribution of digital media and content within Council

The Opportunity

This role assists with the development and distribution of content across Councils digital channels to grow engagement and support Councils strategic objectives. The successful candidate also performs other public relations or communications functions as required for Council.

Responsibilities of the Digital Media Advisor at Council include:

  • Work with communication colleagues to deliver engaging digital media and content supporting communications and marketing strategies for a range of Moonee Valley City Council programs and services.
  • Collaborate with Communications team to produce engaging multimedia content including videos animations infographics and diagrams.
  • Work with the wider communications team to manage Moonee Valley City Council social media channels (Facebook Instagram X LinkedIn TikTok YouTube) including writing content contributing to a social media calendar posting monitoring and working with others to draft responses to the community in a timely manner.
  • Assist with monitoring tracking and reporting on Council owned digital channels with the aim of continuously improving the digital communications offering.
  • Assist with creating and monitoring digital advertising campaigns.

Skills & Experience required

  • Degree or Diploma in Marketing Public Relations or Communications or equivalent work experience and skills in a similar position.
  • Experience with and a strong understanding of social media management and administration accessibility guidelines and best practices for digital content
  • Strong communications skills both written and verbal especially for online audiences.
