The Director Strategic and Financial Communications has a critical role managing and executing high-stakes enterprise communications programs that clearly articulate and amplify Prudentials financial performance and business growth story.

Reporting to the Vice President Strategic and Financial Communications the candidate will work closely with a broad range of business partners to deliver communications that connect Prudentials strategy to key stakeholders including investors financial media employees and other audiences. Key partners include the Office of the CFO CEO and Investor Relations team as well as communications strategists across Prudentials functions and businesses.

The current employee work arrangement for this position is hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site. Consideration will be given to exceptional candidates who are fully remote.

What you can expect:

  • Build and maintain relationships with key financial reporters outlets and influencers including proactive pitching backgrounding and reactive inquiry management.

  • Proactively identify and pitch awards social media and conference opportunities for initiatives and enterprise leaders.

  • Manage communications programs for corporate development M&A and other complex processes coordinating across functions to clear consistent messaging and smooth execution.

  • Develop enterprise narrative materials media strategies and communications programs to reinforce confidence in Prudentials business performance and strategic priorities.

  • Develop communication materials tailored for senior executives including briefing books benchmark analyses and messaging documents.

  • Leverage the resources and centers of expertise within the Prudential Communications organization (creative content analytics research) to improve message clarity anticipate risk and quantify communications impact.

What youll need:

  • 7-10 years of professional experience in corporate financial or strategic communications.

  • Strong media relations expertise with the ability to manage relationships with journalists.

  • Demonstrated success executing complex communications programs (corporate development M&A and/or organizational changes).

  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills.

  • Executive presence relationship-building skills and high EQ to anticipate challenges and build alignment across functions.

Itd be a plus if you had:

  • Business Acumen: Understands and leverages organizational financial and industry data to better address customer needs and/or operations.

  • Sector Experience: Knowledge and familiarity with the financial services industry and/or public company financial reporting requirements.

  • Outcomes Focus: Delivers results that support project function and business outcomes and maximizes my own utility by prioritizing work appropriately and executing efficiently.

  • Creativity: Sees connections that others do not successfully applies ideas drawn from seemingly unrelated contexts and generates a wide array of useful solutions to solve problems.

  • Communications Coaching: Coaches Communications colleagues and business partners in core communications skills and strategies when needed and shares good ideas for improving Communications work and/or reputation.

  • Channel Management: Increases familiarity of a wide array of channels leverages their possibilities for maximum impact and adapts messages effectively to them.

What we offer you:

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $152500.00 to $206200.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location candidate experience and skills.
