Job Summary:
This position collaborates with the Director of Pathway Advising to provide direct supervision of the Pathway Advising front desk team (2 full-time professional staff and student workers) as well as work direction and leadership for all functions of the Pathway Advising department and in the absence of the Director this position will assume supervisory duties of all staff in the department. This position will play a key role in designing implementing and maintaining a College-wide mandatory New Student Orientation program and will be required to lead college and department critical initiatives crafted to eliminate educational equity gaps improve completion rates for degree seeking students and develop a more interculturally competent culturally responsive institutional culture.
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $30.10 - $43.59 hourly.
Minimum Qualifications
One (1) year of experience with staff management and supervision or providing work direction to professional para-professional or student employees. (bachelors degree in Higher Education Student Affairs or another closely related field as determined by the agency may substitute one (1) year of experience; masters degree substitutes for eighteen (18) months of experience).
Two (2) years of relevant experience in student services advising and/or orientation.
Evidence of a strong and clear commitment to students with diverse perspectives and from diverse backgrounds.
One (1) year of experience with strategic planning data collection and analysis and report writing.
Preferred Qualification
Masters in Higher Education Student Affairs or related field.
Awareness of research and evaluation methodologies sufficient to determine project/program effectiveness.
Technical skills including a working knowledge of Student Information Systems (i.e. ISRS WorkDay Banner People Soft etc.) and retention-focused CRMs (i.e. Navigate Starfish etc.).
Experience working in a collective bargaining environment.
Expertise developing student retention initiatives.
