Compensation Details:
Underwriter 17: $83037 - $110717 plus a performance-based incentive.
or
Underwriter 18: $94664 - $126219 plus a performance-based incentive.
or
Underwriter 19: $109810 - $146413 plus a performance-based incentive.
Location:
Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment currently requiring employees to work in the office2days per week.(subject to change).
This role can be performed from one of EDCs Community Hubs located inVancouver Calgary Edmonton or Winnipeg.
Relocation assistance is available for candidates who meet the eligibility criteria.

Team & Job Overview:
The Mid-Market Lending Team is a regionally based underwriting team serving EDCs 2030 Mid-Market Segment Strategy to deliver impactful financing support to growth companies in the segment. EDC develops deep customer relationships with Canadian medium-sized firms in order to deliver customized non-dilutive patient capital solutions that catalyze growth and accelerate international expansion.
As an experienced financing professional focused on company growth strategies the Financing Manager/Senior Associate applies deep expertise in commercial lending structured finance and capital markets. Operating within a deal team across Vancouver Calgary and Edmonton and serving clients throughout Western Canada (BC AB SK MB) the role requires agility in dynamic sometimes virtual environments collaborating with consultative teams from Ottawa other Canadian regions and international offices.
The successful candidate shall demonstrate a keen sense of financial curiosity to understand businesses strategies and risk drivers entrepreneurial approaches to generating enterprise value adherence to collaborative cross-functional relationships for problem solving and EDCs value proposition to the Mid-market customer segment. EDCs financing can and does accelerate international growth for Canadian companies.
What you will be doing:
Works closely with Canadian exporters to lead and negotiate complex transactions including those involving international financing risks and manage loan portfolios; Assess / mitigates transaction and portfolio risks and remedies;
Determines financial eligibility of counterparties and works closely with Legal counsel to review legal documentation including Security agreements;
Formulates viable risk/return profiles for each loan;
Recommends financing commitments within specified program parameters policies and guidelines;
Apply Lean/Agile principles to lead process improvements solve problems creatively and contribute to team and cross-functional initiatives.
What we are looking for:
Undergraduate degree in Commerce in Business Finance Economics or Accounting and/or relevant direct lending work experience (or equivalent education/experience);
5-10 years of experience (depending on role) in independent structuring/restructuring in structured financing solutions including junior capital;
Strong skills in financial analysis credit assessment financial modeling and experience in deal structuring; lending experience with unique financing structures and/or foreign jurisdictions is a valuable asset;
Collaborative and adaptable team player with strong communication skills experienced in working across multiple teams to coordinate and complete complex financing transactions efficiently and effectively.
What will make you stand out:
Masters of Commerce in Business Finance Economics or Accounting;
Bilingual in both official languages (English and French);
Professional designation under CFA CBV CPA; MBA or similar.
Eligibility:
