With community residents leading the way the mission of Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation (CHLDC) is to build a strong sustainable Cypress Hills/East New York where youth and adults achieve educational and economic success secure healthy and affordable housing and develop leadership skills to transform their lives and community. We actively promote policies that advance racial equity.
CHLDC has an opening for one (1) full-time Grant Writer in the Fund Development Department. This position is a non-exempt role. We seek a talented writer and detail-oriented project manager to prepare and submit compelling government Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and private foundation/corporation proposals for CHLDCs impactful programs in college success workforce development community organizing education and youth development housing and community development.
This is a growth position within our nonprofit organization that reports directly to the Director of Fund Development & Strategic Initiatives and works closely with the Deputy Director of Fund Development. CHLDC has an annual budget of $25 million and serves over 20000 residents annually from multiple school-based sites a community center and storefront offices.
