Job Summary

Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship at Wavertree C of E Primary School


Wavertree Primary School are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant Apprentice to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about working with children including those with special educational needs (SEN) and who is eager to develop a career in education.


Apprenticeship Overview:


  • Salary:7.55 an hourAutomatic pay increase after one year on programme for 19 year olds
  • Working Week: Monday to Friday 8:45 AM till 3:15 PM with a 30-minute lunch break
  • Hours:30 hours per week
  • Duration:18 months
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship standard qualification
  • Online training supported by our dedicated tutor
  • Location:Rose Villas Liverpool L15 8HJ


Duties:


  • Contribute to the schools inclusive ethos and values promoting equality diversity and acceptance of all learners.
  • Uphold and implement safeguarding policies and safe practices including online safety and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with teachers the SENDCo external professionals and parents/carers to support pupils learning and development.
  • Reflect on your own practice and identify professional development opportunities with the support of colleagues.
  • Understand individual learner needs and use effective strategies to help all children achieve their goals.
  • Promote learner independence through engaging and inclusive activities.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and consistently apply the schools behaviour policy.
  • Support the emotional social and personal care needs of all learners ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Deliver small group and one-to-one support as directed by the class teacher.
  • Assist in monitoring recording and reporting on learner progress.
  • Help create a stimulating learning environment by preparing and maintaining engaging teaching resources.
  • Support or lead enrichment activities such as school clubs trips and extra-curricular learning.


What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end


The successful candidate will obtain a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship standard qualification.

Each apprentice will have their own dedicated tutor who will conduct monthly remote tutorials and reviews providing continuous support throughout the apprenticeship program. Depending on the apprentices needs the frequency of these sessions may vary.

Potential full-time employment for the right candidate upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.


Pre-employment checks. Please be aware that upon a successful offer of employment the company completes digitalised right-to-work checks and DBS applications via an external provider - Matrix Screening. The company also completes an internal online social media search in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance.
