Purpose of the role:
The Security Contract Manager is responsible for overseeing the operational activities within Bristol Wastes security services ensuring the delivery of a high-quality compliant and customer-focused service.
You will act as a key liaison with internal and external stakeholders including Bristol City Council ensuring service expectations and contractual obligations are met.
Drive strategic improvements and operational efficiencies within the security function maintaining high standards of professionalism and service delivery.
Provide leadership support and development opportunities to the security team ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
Identify and implement opportunities for business growth and service enhancements within the security portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight:
- Manage and coordinate all security operations including resource allocation scheduling and performance monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with contractual agreements security industry regulations (SIA ACS NSI Gold) and company policies.
- Oversee the effective deployment of static security mobile patrols and Cash-in-Transit (CViT) services ensuring high standards of service delivery.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to maintain compliance with security procedures and health & safety requirements.
Client Relationship Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for key clients including Bristol City Council ensuring strong and positive working relationships.
- Respond proactively to client needs addressing concerns promptly and identifying opportunities for service improvement.
- Attend client meetings and provide detailed operational reports on security performance and compliance.
Strategic Planning & Continuous Improvement:
- Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency service delivery and cost-effectiveness.
- Leverage technology to enhance security operations including incident reporting software and access control systems.
- Identify areas for operational improvement implementing best practices and driving innovation.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead motivate and develop the security team ensuring a culture of professionalism accountability and continuous improvement.
- Provide training and development opportunities for security officers team leaders and managers.
- Ensure all security personnel meet SIA licensing requirements and uphold company standards.
- Manage performance conducting regular reviews and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
Performance & Risk Management:
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) ensuring contractual compliance and high service standards.
- Oversee incident response procedures ensuring effective handling of security breaches and escalations.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with security service delivery developing robust contingency plans.
Financial & Business Management:
- Manage the security budget ensuring cost-effective deployment of resources.
- Monitor financial performance identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Support the expansion of security services by identifying and developing new business opportunities.
Regulatory Compliance & Industry Standards:
- Ensure full compliance with SIA licensing regulations health & safety standards and security best practices.
- Maintain accreditation standards (e.g. NSI Gold Approved Contractor Scheme) and support audit preparations.
- Stay informed on legislative changes affecting the security industry and implement necessary policy updates.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with internal departments including HR finance and operations to support wider business objectives.
- Engage with external stakeholders including regulatory bodies and law enforcement to enhance service delivery and compliance
Essential Requirements for the Role:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities.
- High-level understanding of static security mobile patrols and Cash-in-Transit operations.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Proficiency in security management systems and reporting software.
- Ability to manage multiple sites and prioritise tasks effectively.
