The Dallas ISD records specialist will be responsible for receiving analyzing processing and maintaining electronic personnel files for active and terminated DISD employees in accordance with Texas Education Agency (TEA) and local policies. Determine levels of education and credible years of service for salary placement of employees in accordance with TEA and local policy. This includes processing new hire documentation employee separation documents for record control purposes and all other transactional records support for HR functions. Analyze state leave day balances to be transferred for all employees. Responsible for maintaining employee records including address/name changes credential updates working with auditors and other agencies.
- Organize and manage routine activities of the front desk with an emphasis of prioritizing tasks and time.
- Answer incoming calls from customers asking routine frequently asked questions and provide information about appropriate policies/procedures contacts and other services.
- Ensure highly responsive and exceptional quality of customer service support.
- Audit employee personnel files for accuracy and completion ensuring adherence to TEA regulations Texas Education code and local policy.
- Releases records information according to District rules from all DISD employees and applicants.
- Resolves problems and recommends solutions to service record issues that arise when local or state policies are unclear for hiring purposes.
- Prepare analyze confirm and verify the authenticity of official documents related to employee qualifications including but not limited to Service Records Certificates Licenses and College Degrees.
- Responds to incoming requests for employment salary financial and other verifications of both former and existing employees in accordance with district policy and departmental practices.
- Determines creditable years of service for salary step placement of employees from an accredited institution in accordance with TEA requirements and local policies and enter the years of service information in Oracle for accurate and current data.
- Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned.
